About

Amandeep (he/him) is a clinical supervisor specializing in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help clients target recurring negative thoughts and to help improve their mood and behaviour.

In 2012, he began working in the field of mental health as a family counsellor for a non-profit agency. He was later hired by the Fraser Health Authority as a mental health counsellor for the geriatric mental health team. In search of a new challenge, he took a position in a small, remote, Indigenous community working with the BC Government to provide counselling services to children, youth and their families. In 2018, he returned to Vancouver, where he currently provides evidence-based treatment for anxiety, depression and the effects of trauma.

Amandeep specializes in the use of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) to help clients target recurring negative thoughts and to help improve their mood and behaviour. He also brings a deep understanding of attachment theory and systems theory, which can be effective for uncovering root causes of interpersonal conflict. He delivers services in English and Punjabi.

He graduated with a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from UBC with a focus in clinical counselling and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW #12408) governed by the British Columbia College of Social Workers. Some of his specialized training includes CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), Indigenous Cultural Safety Training, Suicide Risk Assessment Training, and Crisis Intervention Training.
