About

Daria (she/her) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC #20671) who supports individuals navigating anxiety, burnout, challenging relationship patterns, work‑related stress, grief and trauma/PTSD, addiction recovery, significant life decisions (such as IVF and preparing to have a family), and stress for folks from immigrant and 2SLGBTQI+ communities (e.g. intergenerational tensions, questions of identity and belonging). Her style is warm, relaxed, down-to-earth, and relational. She is sex‑positive and welcoming of all genders and sexualities. She offers in‑person and virtual sessions with daytime and evening availability.

How I Can Help You

If you’re a caring, thoughtful person who’s been running on empty, I might be a good fit. I often work with people who look steady on the outside yet feel anxious, burnt out, or stuck in repeating relationship patterns. You might be in healthcare, frontline work, or self‑employment or you or your family may have arrived here as an immigrant and be navigating complexities related to that. Together, we can work toward feeling more grounded, more connected to yourself, clearer in relationships, and more able to set boundaries that will hold you and help you to feel more whole, clear, secure and grounded.

Approach

My style is relational, warm, and steady. We’ll go at a pace that feels manageable. I tend to slow things down, help you notice what’s happening in the moment, and make space for feelings without pressure or judgment. We might explore how earlier experiences show up now and try small, practical shifts between sessions. I’m sex‑positive and welcoming of all genders and sexualities. Sessions may be reflective, sometimes gently challenging, and hopefully grounding.

Issues I Can Help With

  • Anxiety, overthinking, and burnout
  • Relationship patterns, breakups, and difficulty with vulnerability
  • People‑pleasing, boundaries, and self‑esteem
  • Work‑related stress, psychological work injury, and PTSD
  • Immigration/acculturation stress and intergenerational dynamics
  • Life transitions, meaning, and decisions about having children (including IVF considerations)
  • Trauma, grief, chronic pain, and addiction recovery

Professional Experience

I started working in the mental health field in 2016 doing outreach work in Edmonton, Alberta, supporting folks affected by addiction, trauma, and marginalization. After moving to Vancouver in 2020, I continued outreach work in the Downtown Eastside. In addition to being a part of the Safe Space team, I also work as a Concurrent Disorders Counsellor in public health supporting people experiencing addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, and chronic pain.

FAQ

What happens in the first session?
We’ll talk about what brings you in, what you hope might change, and what’s felt hard. I’ll ask a few gentle questions and we’ll agree on next steps.

Do you offer virtual or in‑person sessions?
Yes, both. I offer in‑person in Vancouver and secure video or phone.

How soon might I notice a shift?
It varies. Some people feel a bit of relief from being understood early on; deeper changes often take more time. We’ll check in about what’s working.
